It’s April and it’s time to spring into action and take steps toward achieving the life you dream of. Getting what you truly desire out of life is possible and it begins with YOUR MIND. Your thoughts shape your behavior which in turn impact the results you achieve.

As The Lifestyle Pharmacist I am on a mission to help you to eat healthier, effectively manage stress, and exercise more so that you can be fit, fabulous, and fulfilled without prescribed pills.  So today I’m sharing 5 tips for getting what you want in life.

Tip #1-  Protect your mind from negativity

Negativity may be closer than you realize.  It can be found in what you watch on television, the music you listen to, and even in the company that you keep.  Making changes in all of these aspects of your life will help protect your mind from negativity. Get into the habit of being selective about what you allow inside your mind.

Tip #2-  Don’t wait for praise or validation from others

Speak positive words of encouragement by saying things out loud to yourself like- I am loved.  I am wonderfully made.  I am beautiful.  I have purpose.  I am a masterpiece.  God has a great plan for me.  And by all means celebrate your wins even the small ones because small wins lead to big wins.

Tip #3-  Be your true and authentic self

Many people have a tough time being vulnerable. Being unsure about how much to reveal online, how much to share at work, or whether to let people to get close to the.  The great new is that authenticity, transparency, and vulnerability all create trust.  When people trust you, they are more likely to do what they can to help you.

 Tip #4-  Live in the present

Leaving past experiences in the past may seem easier said than done.  However, this statement is super important for getting what you want in life.  Don’t allow the past impact your present or dictate your future.  Use the lessons learned from the past to move forward and to do things differently where necessary.

Tip #5- Practice gratitude

Express gratitude for what you have instead of focusing on what you don’t have.  By being appreciative for all the blessings that you have even more amazing things will begin appearing in your reality. The irony is that they were there always there it’s just that you can SEE them now.
